WELCOME TO HILLSIDE GLOBAL...

Romans 10:14-15
How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him in whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they be sent?

Isaiah 6:8
Also, I heard the voice of the Lord saying,”Whom shall I send and who will go for us”? Then I said, here am I, send me.

Mark 16:15
Then he said, “Go into all the world. Go everywhere and announce the message of God’s good news to one and all”.

Mat 28:18-20
Jesus, undeterred, went right ahead and gave his charge: "God authorised and commanded me to commission you: Go out and train everyone you meet, far and near, in this way of life, marking them by baptism in the threefold name: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Then instruct them in the practice of all I have commanded you. I'll be with you as you do this, day after day after day, right up to the end of the age.

Acts 1:8
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

A healthy and strong Church is made of many parts which meet the needs of its membership. These include for instance, Children’s ministry, Women’s ministry, Youth etc etc. These are all crucial to caring for those in our community of faith and others who we can influence in our city. Many times however, churches and congregations can forget the core purpose of their calling in Christ. The number one purpose for church is the spreading of the Gospel and making disciples for Christ. It is in fact the key for why each of  these other groups exist in the church.

It is imperative then that we undertake a strong, deliberate look at what we are going to do with Jesus’ command here in Forrestfield, the Kalamunda Shire, Perth, WA, Australia and the rest of the world.

It’s not all ours to do but we must play our part and also ensure we are partnering and mobilising others to do the same when and wherever that is possible.

God has directed HillSide Church over the years to undertake this work under the ‘HILLSIDE GLOBAL’ banner. He has guided our leadership by the Holy Spirit to build up, send, engage and support many missionaries and mission agencies, many overseas and local churches and individuals alike.

We therefore identify several needs as being fundamental in the process of achieving this divinely commanded work. They are:

  • Training
  • Policy and procedure
  • Financial assistance
  • Practical assistance
  • Prayer cover
  • Mobilisation
  • ...and testimonial feedback

HillSide Church also recognises that Mission is achieved in a variety of extremely different ways. There are, in addition cultural, economic and financial constraints. However we identify four major streams of Missions activity as:

  • Evangelism
  • Pastoring
  • Equipping
  • Good Works

We also identify that some of our missionaries accomplish all these facets in their roles whilst others may be focused in the provision of only one or two. It’s therefore quite important to recognise that the fruit of some work over many years might be for thousands to come into a saving relationship with Jesus and others may labour for decades and be seed planters, never seeing immediate fruit from their work. In all cases we want to ensure they are firstly called by God to the work of mission and secondly that they are enabled to accomplish that calling.

HillSide Church Leadership recognises that systems and processes should never replace of guidance of The Holy Spirit. We fully believe that the Lord leads and guides our activities in everything.

It has always been  our heart desire that people at all levels in the church are engaged in the great commission. That they therefore have understanding of Mission as an integral part of their lives as Christians who follow and embrace the Lord Jesus Christ. This is common to all believers either formally recognised as missionaries or not.
